Ayurvedic Therapy Langhorne
Ayurvedic or Ayurveda as it is often known is one of the world’s oldest head-to-toe healing treatments. It stems from the belief of inner balance between the mind, spirit, and body. Its purpose of therapy is to promote good health!
When your mind, body, and spirit are one with the world, then you are in good health. Disruptions to the balance may carry great implications to your health. These disruptions include climate or seasonal change, injuries, age, personal matters, and even your emotional state of well being.
“Learning and practicing the ancient healing art of Ayurveda can facilitate the creation of unity within ourselves, with each other, the earth, and the universe.” – Dr. Joanna Carmichael, RN, BSN
In the Ayurveda practice it is said that people are made up of the five basic elements, air, water, fire, space, and earth. The five elements when combined form three of the following bodily energies or doshas which have a cosmic energy that control the functionality of the body:
Vata dosha: Composed of air and space, vata regulates the principle of movement. Any movement whether it is breathing, running, swimming, or even thinking requires vata to be in good balance. When out of balance, any of these movements can be harmful.
Pitta dosha: Composed of the elements fire and water, pitta regulates the principle of transformation. Pitta oversees digestion. sensory perception, comprehension, and body temperature. When pitta is imbalanced, this can lead to you getting sick in those particular bodily areas.
Kapha dosha: Composed of the elements earth and water, kapha regulates the principle of stability and structure. Kapha oversees the skeleton and various vital organs that support the body and even fatty tissue. Imbalanced kapha may lead to you being on the heavier side.
In short, Ayurveda offers numerous ways for doshas to be in perfect balance and here at Kaaya Med Spa we have some pointers to give.
